I struggled with this card as on the 1st try after I checked to see if my tissue paper was dry with the glue/water solution.  One day later it was not - to my horror I discovered that the paper I was using had a slick shiny side and so I thought okay, that is why it is not dry and all the layers separated from one another and the card stock.  No more white tissue paper, so the 2nd time I used what I had (brown tissue paper with no shiny side).  I was sure this would do the trick.  Went through the process and laid it aside to dry overnight.  Got up third morning and the same thing happened as in the first and second try.  Isn't there a saying "try try again".  I was frustrated by this point and said to myself it must be the proportions of water to glue.  I was determined not to fail again - so I scrapped that process and went with a different one to achieve the same look.  I used Mod Podge Matte for the process.  Getting up this morning after allowing it to dry overnight I remember grumbling if this doesn't work this time - its time to step away from the project.   YEAH this technique worked but didn't show the amount of detail that Nichol's process did.  Oh well, I burnished it with my score pal tool and said this is as good as it will ever get.

I couldn't use my sewing machine so I improvised by drawing directly onto the top layer of felt with white pigment gel pen and then made my cuts between the lines.

SAF 2017 - Anniversary Tradition IRON

Stamp a Faire 2017
6th Anniversary Tradition - IRON
by:  Yana Smakula

The bike frame on this card represents IRON.  It was very shiny at first, but when working with the image to put the card together my fingerprints actually made the bright silver change to a dull iron look.

Stamp a Faire 2017 5th Anniversary Tradition – WOOD

5th Anniversary Tradition - WOOD
By Lizzie Jones

Awesome technique of inlaying wood.  I loved my creation until I noticed that the grain of the wood is going two different directions.  Definitely making this card again soon – paying special attention to the direction of the grain.

This year’s stamp a faire has been so wonderful.  I have learned numerous new to me techniques and I am only half way through the projects.  Some I am waiting for supplies to arrive, but with tomorrow being Sunday and no deliveries many will be completed as supplies arrive.  However, in many cases I have been able to improvise and that is exciting – get the creative juices flowing.
